96 Points - The Tasting Panel (September, 2024)

Illation by Brandon Gregory Estate is a Bordeaux blend created by winemaker Julien Fayard from the best barrels of the small lot wines we produce each vintage.  In crafting Illation, Julien seeks to capture the growing season and the spirit of our Brookshire Vineyard at the base of Mt Saint Helena in Knights Valley. 

The 2021 vintage of Illation is broad and shows beautifully nuanced aromas and flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.  Purple fruits dominate the nose and palate with subtle hints of dried sage, red cherry, and black tea.  The tannins are superbly ripe, and the sweetness, texture, and acidity keep the wine lively, leaving a fruity savory note on an extended finish.
